As a Junior Medical Record Analyst, you will oversee the analysis and summarization of complex medical records to support legal, clinical, and insurance teams. You’ll lead a team of analysts, ensure quality and accuracy in documentation, and guide process improvements to maintain compliance with HIPAA and internal standards. This role demands strong medical knowledge, analytical thinking, and leadership skills to transform detailed medical data into clear, case-ready insights.

Overview
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, interpret, and analyze comprehensive medical records, identifying key treatments, diagnoses, and timelines.

  • Supervise and mentor junior analysts to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to company guidelines.

  • Prepare detailed medical summaries, chronologies, and case narratives for legal and clinical review.

  • Audit completed reports for quality assurance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Identify missing or inconsistent records and coordinate with relevant departments for resolution.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and data protection protocols.

  • Collaborate with legal, medical, and technical teams to ensure deliverables meet project goals and deadlines.

  • Contribute to developing templates, workflows, and process enhancements for the medical analysis team.

  • Stay updated with medical documentation standards, terminologies, and regulatory updates.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, or a related field (Medical background required).

  • 3+ years of experience in medical record summarization, chronology preparation, or clinical documentation.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, healthcare processes, and record systems.

  • Proven experience in quality control and mentoring junior analysts.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality protocols.

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of medico-legal case handling and litigation support.

  • Proficiency in EMR systems and digital record management tools.

  • Strong report formatting and presentation skills using Word, Excel, or document management software.

  • Ability to interpret diagnostic reports, surgical summaries, and physician notes with clarity.
